Anh ta lang thang giữa cái nóng trong mệt mổi và đói khát. Anh ta chỉ còn một ít nước và quyết định để giành càng lâu càng tốt. Dù rất khát anh ta cũng chỉ uống một hớp nhỏ.<br /> Đã rất nhiều lần hoa mắt anh ta thấy trước mắt mình là một hồ nước, dồn hết sức lao đến để rồi thất vọng. Tuy nhiên anh ta vẫn không từ bỏ suy nghĩ phải sống và ra khỏi nơi ngu ngốc này.<br /> <br /> Hết ngày thứ hai nước trong chai cũng đã hết. Anh ta không còn sức để mà đứng dậy, bò lôm côm trên cát tới khi mệt rồi lả đi.<br /> <br /> Ngày thứ ba, trong cơn mê sảng anh ta vẫn nghĩ mình phải tỉnh dậy và ra khỏi nơi ngu ngốc này. Lúc đó có một người du mục đi ngang qua thấy vậy liền cứu sống và chia lại cho anh ta một ít nước, một ít lương thực, chỉ cho anh ta hướng để vào thị trấn. Anh ta hỏi tên và địa chỉ vì muốn có dịp báo đáp. Nhưng người này nói rằng:anh không cần báo đáp tôi, nếu còn sống và có ai đó cần anh giúp đỡ hãy giúp họ trong khả năng và đề nghị họ giúp đỡ những người khác nếu có thể.<br /> <br /> Anh ta đã sống sót ở lại thị trấn làm thuê, ít lâu sau mở một quán ăn nhỏ. Mỗi ngày đều cưỡi Lạc Đà đi ra vùng sa mạc quanh đó để tìm và cứu những người bị lạc suốt 10 năm,đã cứu giúp không biết bao nhiều người và với người nào anh ta cũng làm theo lời người ân nhân dặn. Cho tới một ngày anh ta cẩm thấy những gì mình làm đã đủ và quyết định rời thị trấn để tìm đường về nhà.
